Feather Color Meanings | Spiritual Meaning of Feather Colors

Feathers are more than just symbols of freedom and resilience. They symbolize self-friendship and the integration of our past; how we can transform from flightless to soaring. Solitude is integral when we see feathers, as it points to a deeper forming connection with ourselves and the Universe.

Black Feather

These feathers speak of integration, naturally with its color. Beyond that, there’s a pull to go deeper. Black feathers are an invitation not just for integration with our past but transmutation. Taking a dark experience and creating light out of it. Taking something and transmuting the negative to positive. The dark to light.

The color black speaks of deep transformation, but with black feathers, the sign is an opportunity to connect deeper to your abilities. To find both transformation and transmutation within an experience.

There is an event, wrongdoing, or injustice that has yet to be balanced. It can be a plaguing process navigating a new lifestyle without proper recompense. Black feathers are solid indicators that an injustice will be righted and may very well be in the works already.

They are a gentle reminder that your power lies in accountability, self-awareness, and self-care right now. Looking at the darker aspects of ourselves and what we’ve brought to situations and experiences. The situation you’re in now is meant to humble your perception, therefore changing how you perceive the world and the way you interact with others.

There may also be some wonderful experiences with children on the horizon. Luck surrounding family, the home, and finances is given as a gift now. Through these transformative times, Spirit wants to bring you love and comfort. Now is not a time to be too comfortable, but there will be plenty of moments of reprieve and relaxation and genuine connection with those who love you.

Blue Feather

Blue feathers can be found on some ducks, often used to attract attention. Both genders can control how much of their secondary feathers show, creating a clear message that they’re available. The color and vibrancy reflects their individual health.

Ducks also use these feathers to distinguish each other apart. They use these feathers to approach a potential match and show themselves off. To stand firm in their own uniqueness and gently let the other party determine if you’re really what they’re looking for.

Blue feathers can sometimes be a message to assess your own feathers and see if they’ve lost some vibrancy. It may be a message to take better care of yourself, as this could be affecting your faith in yourself. Blue feathers is usually an indication that your self-care is changing for the better. That you’re ready to dive into a more intimate routine for yourself.

* Your relationship with yourself is changing, and it involves more self-love, faith, routine, and forgiveness. If you’re holding onto anger and resentment, that area is healing right now.

Blue feathers bring about blessings in disguise. Things may get stirred up, but it’s so that a better, more convenient routine can take over. Your day-to-day is in the process of major change. This will have a profound impact on your relationships with others, as some may have a difficult time understanding your motives. Know that this is a time of discernment. You have the opportunity to observe the people you’re connected with, genuinely check in and see if the relationship still aligns with your values.

White Feather

White feathers serve as a reminder that we are in the right place at the right time. Guidance is the main form of energy when these white feathers come to greet us. Not only were we guided to where we are in that moment but guided to spot the feather as well. A gentle reminder that we are tapped in, that we’re doing a good job and not to fret. You’ve been guided.

Naturally, white feathers remind us of angels. Some say these feathers fall from an angel’s wings, as that’s how close they are. I think they show us just how close we’re starting to feel to our spirit team. You can just feel the potency of energy around you, like the air is charged. I think white feathers also indicate the supernatural and that things are getting amped up.

There’s healing happening and it’s purifying from the inside out

Changes in digestion, cramping, headaches, chills, and sinus issues. Skin changes are especially indicated and something you might be dealing with. Skin is the last barrier when the body detoxes as the impurities are released through our pores. This can cause all kinds of skin reactions.

* Our diets, skincare routines, self-care, or products may need to change, even for a short time. The body needs different care for different stages of our life sometimes.

Gray Feather

These feathers appear when we’re in a gray zone. Transitions are happening; change is potent and has already done some rearranging. This color naturally speaks of this, but gray feathers pack a whole different punch. Feathers in general exude freedom, enchantment, excitement…

Gray feathers are a sign of hope

This energy is similar to a sunset, only that the center focus is more about freedom through surrender. It’s also a sign that you’ve made it through the worst of a situation. You persevered through a situation that left you blinded and lost, but you got yourself out.

This is a small reminder that there is only some fog to sift through now. The darkness of a situation has ran its course. You’ve learned valuable lessons along the way, and now we just have some fog and mist to maze through. A reminder to take stock of what you’ve made it through – and to respect where you are in this moment. There may be a few more cloudy days, but the weather will change.

Multicolor Feather

Naturally, the details of each of the colors you see are involved. Multicolored feathers (or anything) can become a fun intuitive teaser to see what we can conclude ourselves. It also wraps into our personal lives and what we’re going through. Since feathers and their colors can have multiple meanings, it’s worth taking stock of our lives and seeing what intuitively feels right for you.

For example, a feather could be blue and white like from a blue jay. Since blue feathers speak about attraction while white represents cleansing. I’ve been incorporating more modesty in my life. This may be speaking on this decision and that my thoughts on attention and attraction are being cleansed, and that this is supported by the ether.

It also indicates that there are multiple areas of our lives healing and involved. Multiple people are often involved with differing opinions and perhaps some drama going on. Things have already shaken up in this particular area of your life, so why not jump in and join the fun? Of course, it won’t all be enjoyable but it doesn’t mean you are left on the sidelines. It may be worth making your voice heard, as people may be more apt to hear what you have to say. Your voice carries more power than it used to.

              * This is not cause to get mixed up in drama. Speak from a place of earnest and confidence. A lion does not need to roar to make its presence known. This is from a stance of setting boundaries.
