The release of stagnant energy from our soul bodies can create physical symptoms. The symptoms will ease on their own, but we can make the process more comfortable. This can last anywhere from a few days to weeks to months, depending on the intensity of the awakening. As the release happens, it’s best to feed the body and the soul so they can replenish what’s being cleansed.
Random Sick Symptoms
Having some symptoms without enough to add up to illness or developing symptoms without a known cause could be an indicator they have been manifested from an emotional or spiritual place.
This can look like:
having a sore throat without a runny nose
cough or body chills without a fever
random headaches or migraines
rashes, skin changes without a cause
This means: slow down. Our souls needs more care than usual. The spirit is healing, and the physical body is being affected too. This is why some ailments will pop up without others.
Ascension is similar to an inferno, where your soul is permanently cleansed. During this integration, there will be blockages being released, which can result in symptoms in the areas affected. Blockages in the throat look like fear of being heard, holding back, biting your tongue. But when the throat is ready to heal, you could experience throat pain, hoarseness, sinus problems, jaw pain, etc.
Changes in Smell
Each of the senses is affected with ascension, just in different ways. Smell becomes more sensitive because the sinuses are a direct connection to the brain and the outside world. The breath of life. Smell is often heightened, and we can become more sensitive to it during awakenings.
Smelling foul odors with no indication nearby is one of the first ways to know there’s been a shift. We can become more sensitive to smell and our sense of scent can start picking up on more than what’s just around us.
Some describe it as smelling death. This is due to the death process that is ascension: leaving behind the old for the new. Smell often changes in this way when there’s a decision that’s been made, and you have not yet transitioned into the new yet. The old is cleansing from you. It’s like we’re sweating out old energy, and when we sweat, it doesn’t really smell that great. This could even result in more trips to the bathroom, changes in the bowels, stomach cramps, and sinus changes.
* Salt baths can help, since salt is protective and cleansing for our spirits and will help replenish the body with minerals, like magnesium.
Nausea
Nausea is an indication that we may be denying something. It is the loudest form of denial from the body. It is also an indication of gluttony, that we may be indulging in something more than we need to or in a way we no longer align with.
The body is rejecting something, whether it be a habit, hobby, food, relationship, or situation. It is usually relating to a significant decision that may have put to the side or on the backburner.
The gut and mind are directly related, so anything the mind may be struggling with, the gut will try to translate in an effort to create equilibrium.
Tums, a heating pad, ice pack (or a mix of both with 20 minute intervals,) a bath or shower, tea can ease the process
Ginger, peppermint, and raspberry leaf and turmeric tea help target tummy troubles and settle the stomach. Saying a prayer or intention over a drink or meal will help too.
Confronting the issue emotionally will relieve the symptoms faster than anything else, but these can still ease the process and encourage a peaceful resolution.
Itchiness
Whether it be hives, rashes, flare ups, or just random itching, skin affects nearly everyone going through awakenings. It’s a common and natural reaction, as the skin is the main spiritual protectant.
The main reason is because itching represents taking pain with pleasure. It can indicate us putting our walls down against our judgement, letting someone/something under our skin, and providing an open door to more of the same. Itching alleviates discomfort, providing temporary relief. Many of us are guilty of blanketing our discomforts with temporary relief, like drinking, eating, distracting…
in what ways could we be accepting temporary highs to mask the lows?
Life gets challenging and we naturally seek comfort. It is natural to turn to relief when we’re stressed and uncomfortable. However, itching can be a sign from the body that the soul is so uncomfortable with the temporary relief that it has affected us negatively. It is the body’s way of communicating, “let’s find a better alternative because this does not help anymore.”
Back Pain
The back is the warehouse for the body. It stores everything and can easily become “backed up.” It can be thought of in pieces, as the upper back, middle, and lower.
Upper back: questions we are seeking, confusion, not seeing clearly, and judging our decisions
Middle back: shame and guilt, inner critic, younger self, wounded ego and self conception
Lower back: our place in the material world, our relationship with money, financial stability
Without the back functioning properly, our health can deteriorate quickly. The spine represents security in ourselves and the world. If we don’t feel comfortable within ourselves or our place, the spine may cry for help in different ways, whether it be scoliosis, deterioration, arthritis, inflammation, etc.
The more stable we are in this world materially and within ourselves emotionally and mentally, the more the spine and back will heal with ease.
Chiropractic care and physical therapy are a fantastic means of alignment, which can also trigger further energetic release. Ice packs in tender spots, heat therapy, and epsom salt baths will help regulate the flow of energy, speeding the process along.
Headaches
Otherwise known as ascension headaches. Migraines and headaches can result from an overload of mental stimulation. The brain is overwhelmed, and the body is calling out for a break. Since the body and mind are able to heal while we sleep, sleep could be affecting the headaches as well.
This is also associated with neck pain, as misalignment with the neck and back can easily trigger and exacerbate these headaches. Consider taking a social media break, even for half a day or so, and fill that space with an old or new hobby.
Take as many breaks as you can right now. Take naps and don’t feel guilty for them. These headaches can be a message from our spirit saying, “naps are your friend, take some time out and indulge in fulfilling pastimes.” The goal is to just be.
Insomnia
Some will need more sleep than usual, while others may require less sleep during awakenings. This can also change over time, requiring more sleep in the beginning of your ascension, less towards the end and vice versa. Sleep will almost always be affected by an ascension, and it’s usually one of the first indicators of a shift.
* If sleep is evading you, try to nap or relax whenever fatigue comes over you. Even power naps for 20-30 minutes can make a substantial difference in our energy levels.
Insomnia could be the body’s way of calling out for more excitement. Seems counterintuitive, but life is often ironic.
Our bodies and minds especially need more inspiring stimulation. Sometimes we feed our minds junk food, like too much screen time or overthinking scenarios. Fulfilling activities can help with our sleep, as the mind and body can find more peace when we feel gratified. The body is not just tired, it’s our routine. Take a look at your to-do list of personal endeavors and take up something new.
Mood Swings + Intrusive Thoughts
Our fear, grief, shame, and insecurities will be triggered, as this is a natural part of the ascension process. The stagnant feelings that were sitting at the bottom of the barrel throughout the years have been shaken to the surface.
Now that everything’s just floating around, it’s easier to pick up whatever is in our awareness and even lash out from frustration. This is natural, but it can hinder the process. These are indications that we need to step back and regulate our heart.
There may be very basic things in our lives that we need to do every day to take care of ourselves that we may be lacking in, like sleep, eating enough protein, or getting sufficient circulation through our bodies.
Take care of yourself like you would take care of a beloved pet or small child
Showing up for ourselves and developing a more stable relationship first will settle our emotions. We won’t feel the need to hang onto emotional imbalance because emotional security has already begun to develop within us.
Don’t be too timid to track the moon, whether it be a new or full moon. These aspects can affect us especially when we’re dealing with emotional healing. The moon affects water, which is the emotions, so its lunar phase and sign can have an effect on us at this time. Writing and journaling can help release pent up emotion in a healthy way and track your progress.
